Former Providence mayor, media personality and
best-selling author Vincent "Buddy" Cianci spoke at Portsmouth Free Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 29, to discuss his life in politics.
Cianci served as Mayor of Providence for 21 years and became its longest sitting mayor.
During his tenure, Providence was dramatically revitalized and became one of America’s top five urban centers. His book, “Politics and Pasta : How I Prosecuted Mobsters, Rebuilt a Dying City, Dined with Sinatra, Spent Five Years in a Federally Funded Gated Community, and Lived to Tell the Tale” was available for purchase and signing.
