What is KONY 2012?

KONY 2012 is about making Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), famous.

The idea is that if everyone knew what was going on in East Africa, everyone would want to help. As the leader of the LRA, Kony has be abducting children in the night and taking them to be soldiers in his army.

He is taking the children from their families and making them, in some cases, take the lives of others. Could you imagine your son/daughter being taken from you to be in the army?

Well, this is the year to stop it. There are four steps to help raise awareness about Joseph Kony.

Step one is to go to http://vimeo.com/37119711 and watch the 30 minute documentary about KONY 2012. This is an indepth video that the creator of KONY 2012 made to help everyone better understand what exactly is going on.

Step two is to share the video. Send it to your friends, family, or even use Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr to spread the word!

Step three is to visit http://kony2012.com and donate, or purchase an Action Kit. This action kit will help you with step four.

Step four is to use your Action Kit on April 20, 2012 to Cover the Night. Cover the Night is when from sundown to sunrise everyone gets their KONY 2012 posters, stickers, and buttons and covers the town! This is so when morning comes everyone will see the posters and the final goal will be achieved.
