Providence Woman Charged With Conspiracy And Fraud: Cops

She was also charged with obtaining more than $10,000 worth of property by false pretenses, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence woman was arrested on conspiracy and fraud charges, police said.

Katherine Garcia, 36, surrendered to troopers at Rhode Island State Police Headquarters and was arrested about 9 a.m. Wednesday on charges of conspiracy, obtaining more than $10,000 worth of property by false pretenses, fraudulent use of a credit card, fraudulently obtaining public assistance, fraudulent use of food stamps and services obtained by fraudulent use of a credit card, the state police said in a media release.

"Garcia was processed and transported to Third District Court for arraignment," the release said.
