Providence Man Charged With Stealing, Counterfeiting, Conspiracy: Cops

He was investigated by the Auto Theft Task Force, the state police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was arrested on theft and conspiracy charges, police said.

Chadwick Rodriguez, 48, was arrested about 6 a.m. Tuesday by the Rhode Island State Police Auto Theft Task Force and Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses, forgery, forgery of registration plates, giving a false document to a public official, motor vehicle dealer's license required and conspiracy, the state police said in a media release.

Rodriguez's arrest was the "result of an investigation by members of the Auto Theft Task Force," the release said.

Rodriguez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and taken to Sixth Division District Court, where he was arraigned and issued $10,000 personal recognizance bail, according to the release.
