DEM Investigating Fatal Boat Accident
The accident happened off Conimicut Point in Warwick on Sunday.

WARWICK, RI—A North Providence woman died Sunday after a boating accident, the state Department of Environmental Management said. Kerrie Macaruso, 41, of North Providence, was attempting to walk through an opening towards the bow of the vessel when a wave struck. The Warwick Harbor Master responded to the call for a medical emergency on a private vessel off of Conimicut Point in Warwick.
Warwick Fire and Police, along with DEM's Division of Law Enforcement, responded to the Oakland Beach boat ramp where she was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced deceased.
The vessel, a 1991 Stingray, was taken into the custody of DEM’s Division of Law Enforcement, who is continuing to investigate the incident.
