RI Gov. Dan McKee Tests Positive For COVID-19
The governor said he was "experiencing very minor symptoms" and would continue to work while in isolation.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Gov. Dan McKee has tested positive for the coronavirus.
"Late last night, I tested positive for COVID-19," the governor announced in a tweet about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. "I’m vaccinated and boosted twice and therefore experiencing very minor symptoms."
McKee said he would isolate for five days in accordance with protocol and would work remotely during that time.

"I look forward to getting back to the office with my team soon," he said.
McKee's case comes at a time when virus rates are relatively low across the state, with community levels as of Friday categorized as low in all counties except Kent, where the level was categorized as medium, according to the state health department. Rhode Island's case rate for the week of Aug. 7-13 was 149 per 100,000 residents. Three people with the virus died that week and 110 new patients with COVID-19 were admitted to a hospital, the state health department reported.
