RI Violent Fugitive Task Force Nabs 2 Providence Men On Firearm Charges: Cops

One of the men was arrested on a charge of assault with a firearm, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested two Providence men on firearm charges, police said.

Jaiden Sousa, 18, and Jhon Castro, also 18, were arrested Tuesday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Sousa was arrested on a warrant charging him with felony assault with a firearm, according to the release, and Castro was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of a stolen firearm and large-capacity feeding devices.

The warrants were obtained in connection with Providence Police Department cases, the release said.

Both Sousa and Casto were "taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department," the release said.
