Wanted Providence Man Arrested During Shooting Probe: Police
The shooter remains unidentified but the Providence man was picked up on a warrant, police said.
TAUNTON, MA — A wanted Providence man was arrested during a probe of a Massachusetts shooting, police said.
Giovanni Carvalho, 19, was arrested on a warrant charging him with motor vehicle violations related to an incident in Taunton, Massachusetts, according to a media release from the Taunton Police Department.
Carvalho and another man, 18-year-old Isaiah Bien-Aime of Taunton, were arrested while police were investigating a Tuesday evening shooting near the corner of Meadow Street and Martel Avenue, the release said.

Bien-Aime was "arrested on multiple warrants related to separate incidents in Fall River," according to the release.
Officers responding to the shooting shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday found a "vehicle with damage to its front end, including what appeared to be bullet holes," the release said, as well as numerous shell casings.

"A gray car was reported to have pulled into the area and fired gunshots at a group of individuals standing" near a Martel Avenue residence "before driving away from the area," according to the release.
Before officers made it to Meadow and Martel, fire and emergency medical services were "dispatched to another home in the same neighborhood for report of a gunshot victim," the release said.
"The victim, a 27-year-old man, was found with an apparent gunshot wound to his left arm," according to the release.
The wounded man was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and is expected to recover, per the release.
Taunton police received reports that a vehicle matching the description of the car involved in the shooting was seen near Cooper Square and Monica Street, according to the release.
"The investigation led to a nearby home on East Broadway," the release said, and officers determined Carvalho and Bien-Aime were wanted on warrants.
"The investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing," the release said.
