Shots Ring Out In Woonsocket's Tyra Club, 1 Man Wounded: Police

An argument in the Tyra Club escalated to where one man shot another in the leg, police said.

WOONSOCKET, RI β€” An argument in the Tyra Club escalated to where one man shot another in the leg, police said.

Officers responded to the club on West Street shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday and found a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg, the Woonsocket Police Department said in a media release.

"Officers performed medical aid to the individual until rescue personnel arrived," the release said.

"The investigation revealed an argument between the victim and Frankie Caro ... ensued inside the establishment at which time Caro fired several shots of which one struck the victim in the leg," according to the release.

Police obtained a warrant for Caro's arrest and he surrendered to the law Monday morning, the release said.

Caro, 43, was arraigned on charges of felony assault or battery, carrying a pistol or revolver without a license or permit, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person convicted of a crime of violence, using a firearm when committing a crime of violence, firing in a compact area, disorderly conduct, and vandalism.

Caro posted $40,000 surety bail for his release, according to police.
