• Mack on the Move: Merrimack Women's Cross Country Opens Season with Runner-Up Finish (merrimacknewspaper.com) — A recent collegiate cross-country invitational brought Merrimack College's women's team to Smithfield, where they opened their 2026 season with a strong runner-up finish in a 5K race. Competing against Rhode Island schools including Bryant and Rhode Island College, Merrimack placed four runners in the top 11 and three more in the top 30, signaling a promising season ahead.
