2016 Tiverton Penguin Plunge, New Year's Day
Welcome in the New Year at Grinnell's Beach at noon on January 1, 2016, and help raise funds for the Tiverton Library!
Start off your New Year with an exhilarating plunge into the Sakonnet River at noon at Grinnell’s Beach on Main Road in beautiful Tiverton. For the fifth year in a row The Tiverton Yacht Club is sponsoring this popular event for the benefit of the Tiverton Public Library. Feel free to bring your New Year’s hats and horns!
Hot beverages will be available at the beach, and after the plunge there will be a reception for penguins at Li’l Bear Sports Pub on 983 Main Road in Tiverton.
Parking is limited so, particularly if you’re taking the plunge, come early to avoid long walks back to your vehicle and carpool if you can.
