Members cited outdated traffic data, Route 24 safety concerns, and missing water documentation before voting 6-0 on negative environmental impacts and confirming zoning compliance but overall rejection.
• Lowest premium gas price in Newport County available at $5.19 per gallon in week ending Oct. 3 (southcotimes.com) — If you buy premium gas in Tiverton, this roundup shows how local prices compared with Middletown and Newport during the week ending Oct. 3, with the county's lowest price at $5.19 per gallon. • Aquidneck Community Table and Crisis Intervention Teams of R.I. each win $65,000 from the Rhode Island Foundation (whatsupnewp.com) — Tiverton residents could see better responses to behavioral health crises after Crisis Intervention Teams of R.I. received a $65,000 Rhode Island Foundation grant to train local police, including Tiverton's department. Another $65,000 will help launch a Middletown food hub supporting local growers and food access across Newport County, part of more than $5 million in new statewide community grants.
