Exhibiting Artists at Sandywoods Center for the Arts - Ongoing

The intentional community known as Sandywoods, located in rural Tiverton, Rhode Island, is home to many talented visual artists. In early 2011, thirteen of those artists founded a small art gallery at Sandywoods.

While the gallery continues to operate, nearly all of the founders have moved on, while still continuing to live and work in the beautiful community they call home.

Eight of the Sandywoods Gallery founders are presently exhibiting their artwork at the Sandywoods Center for the Arts ("SCA"), located at 43 Muse Way, near the entrance to the village.

A wide range of beautiful and exciting 2D and 3D work, expertly curated by Sandywoods resident Marika van Vessem, is currently on view at the SCA.

Desiree Brunton, Matt Smith, Harmony Winters, Joan Mann, Russ Smith, Penny Jackim, Marika van Vessem, Nancy Walker, and David Seibert are among the Sandywoods resident artists participating in this ongoing exhibition at the SCA.

The SCA is usually open during normal business hours Monday through Friday. The weekly live music concerts at the SCA also offer an excellent opportunity to view the wonderful art on the walls. (You can view the current 2012-2013 concert schedule here.)

Private viewings may be arranged by emailing tywodlydcoedwigoedd@gmail.com.

Also on display are large colorful canvases on temporary loan from Paint a Future, a charity founded by the Dutch artist Hetty van der Linden.

Hetty travels all over the world, painting with disadvantaged children. She tells them to paint their dreams and that the dreams they paint might one day come true. Established and well-known artists from many different countries are inspired by the dreams the children paint, incorporating them into their own works of art. The paintings are then sold and the proceeds go directly back to the children - helping to fulfill their dreams and create a better future for them and their families.

All of the "Paint a Future" paintings on exhibit at the SCA are for sale.
