LC Police Log: Controlled Substances, Domestics, Car into Pole

The following arrest and incident reports were provided by Little Compton police. They do not indicate a conviction.

On Aug. 6, Little Compton police charged Keith Fernandes, 37 of 32 Cala Ave, Tiverton, with domestic breaking and entering, possession of a controlled substance and domestic vandalism.

Police said they responded to 18 Bramblewood Cross at around 12:28 p.m. for a domestic disturbance report. After a brief investigation, they charged him with the assorted offenses.

Police charged Julio Casada, 43, of 20 Bowlet St., Prvidence, with driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Aug. 9 at around 11:31 p.m. He was issued a Summons to appear in District Court and released.

Accidents

On Aug. 6, Little Compton police responded to Peckham Road at around 8:28 p.m. for a report of a single motor vehicle crash. Police said the driver, a 24-year-old Little Compton woman, crashed into a parked trailer. She was unhurt.

On Aug. 8 at around 5:41 p.m., police responded to 156 Colebrook Road where a woman had crashed into a telephone pole.

The woman, a 47-year-old Little Compton woman, was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. National Grid and Verizon responded to replace the pole.

On Aug. 10, police responded to Walker’s Roadside Stand at 3:58 p.m. for a hit and run report.

Police said witnesses saw a suspect vehicle back into a parked car on the east side of the road and leave heading north. Police are investigating.1) 8/6/14 20828hrs.

Incidents

On Aug. 5 at 12:30 p.m., officers received a complaint of an IRS phone scam left on a resident’s voicemail.

On Aug. 9 at around 10:03 a.m., officers received a complaint of an IRS phone scam, claiming that the resident owed back taxes, threatening seizure of all bank and credit accounts, and stated they required a cash payment immediately.

On Aug. 10 at around 10:13 a.m., officers received a larceny complaint from the Indian Road Association stating that the mirror leading onto South Shore Road had been stolen. Police are investigating.
