Dan McKee asked all municipalities to hold off during a 60-day statewide review of the technology. The move follows a heated local debate over privacy, effectiveness, and cost, even as nearby Bellingham, Massachusetts, prepares to drop Flock entirely over transparency and AI concerns.
   

4. Dolly Parton's Newport legacy: one unforgettable appearance at Fort Adams, and a book in the mail every month (whatsupnewp.com) — Tiverton families with children under five can receive a free book in the mail every month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which has served more than 5,000 Newport County kids since 2020. Funded locally by the Bazarsky Family Foundation and run through Newport's MLK Community Center, the program honors Parton's legacy by boosting early literacy in Tiverton and neighboring towns.
   

5.
