Nature and Art Covers Tiverton Town Hall Walls
"Flora and Fauna," is presented by the Tiverton Arts Council and runs now until July 8th.
The took place early Friday evening at Tiverton and is presented by the Tiverton Arts Council. The exhibit began May 3 and runs untul July 8.
The show’s theme hints at including pieces predominantly featuring plants and animals. Local artists have their works displayed on the Town Hall walls, including oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics and photography.
Madeleine Diogenes, who teaches watercolor classes at the , had some work on display at Town Hall.

“There are 28 pieces from the class here tonight,” said Diogenes. “Some of my students have never used a brush before. They become alive as they paint. For me it’s like giving birth."
Diogenes said she, too, was a student at the senior center, starting in 1991. Six years ago, she finally became the teacher there.

Besides the wonderful works by older artist, there were also entries from younger artists.
Eighth grader Caroline Morrow was with her mom and dad to view her work.
“I started to paint in fifth grade and continued on. It helps me express my creativeness. I love working in watercolors, but I’ve also done pastels and carvings,” said Morrow.
“I would love to attend RISD someday,” she said.
The exhibit can be viewed during regular Town Hall hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
