• DEM and TNC Conserve 27 acres in Tiverton (nature.org) — A new 27-acre forest parcel in Tiverton has been permanently conserved, linking Pocasset Ridge Conservation Area with Pardon Gray Preserve and Weetamoo Woods and expanding protected open space above the Sakonnet. State and federal funding, along with The Nature Conservancy and local partners, helped secure the land, which safeguards wildlife habitat, local water quality, and more outdoor recreation opportunities for Tiverton residents.
   

• Manufactured home housing plan cut by a third (eastbayri.com) — Developers have downsized the proposed Friendship Farms manufactured home project on Stafford Road to 104 units, including 25 affordable homes, but Tiverton officials and neighbors still worry about traffic, water, and school impacts. Planning Board members questioned earlier traffic studies and potential strain on the North Tiverton Water District, and the project will return for more debate at the October meeting.
