Tiverton Man Sentenced For Fall River Bank Robbery

A woman thwarted the robbery by chasing Randy Audet, 59, out of the store with a baseball bat, prosecutors said.

TIVERTON, RI — A Tiverton man was sentenced to five to seven years in a Massachusetts state prison for robbing a convenience store in Fall River.

Randy Audet, 59, was sentenced after pleading guilty in Fall River Superior Court, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

Audet was on probation for a previous robbery before he robbed Maplewood Suprette on Stafford Road on May 29, 2021. Two women working at the store told police, Audet yelled, "Lottery, money, lottery, money," and while making it look like he had a gun under his sweatshirt.

"This defendant committed another armed robbery while on release for the same type of crime," Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn said in a statement. "He clearly needs to be kept off the street to protect the public and the local small business community."

One of the women chased Audit out of the store with a baseball bat after he stole cash. Prosecutors said the woman smashed Audit's driver’s side window. He then threw the money and drove away.
