• Westerly football team remains optimistic for new season (thewesterlysun.com) — Westerly High's Bulldogs are gearing up to defend their Division II state football title with a new starting quarterback and plenty of returning offensive weapons. Coach Ron Sposato is stressing depth and a tougher non-league schedule, with home dates against Norwich Free Academy, East Providence, Classical, and multiple local scrimmages giving fans several chances to see the team in action.
