VIDEO: City of Woonsocket Inauguration Ceremony

The City of Woonsocket held an inauguration ceremony Tuesday night at the to begin the new term in municipal government. City Council and School Committee members were sworn in and Mayor Leo Fontaine gave and address on the current state and future of the city. The mayor's brother, Roger Fontaine, served as MC for the ceremony.

The event also served as the Organizational Meeting for the new City Council. John Ward was nominated to serve another term as council president and Daniel Gendron was chosen to serve as the vice president. The council confirmed their Rules of Order and reappointed Lloyd Gariepy, Andrea Bicki, Joseph Carroll, and Thomas Dickinson to their current positions.
