Finally Friday Five: Budget Vote, Pops, Wind Ensemble, Stonehenge

All ready for the weekend? Not without these things to know, you're not:

Budget vote - The Woonsocket School Committee expects to vote on a $67.1 million budget today. They'll meet at the McFee Administration Building, 108 High St., in the first floor conference room, 4 p.m. Superintendent Giovanna Donoyan spoke about how the budget was developed during Wednesday night's working session with the City Council.

Pops Saturday - Mount St. Charles' "Pops on the Green" concert will be held Saturday, 6:30 p.m., at 800 Logee St. There'll be 150 Mount musicians in attendance and the Rhode Island National Guard and the Artillery Company of Newport. The evening will end with a grand fireworks display and cannons. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers, but no alcohol.

Wind Ensemble Sunday - St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center will host the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble in a concert entitled “Sublime and Silly.” Works will include Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion by PDQ Bach, Rogers & Hammerstein’s The King and I on May 20, 2 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 401-356-0713 or online at StAnnArtsCtr.org or visit BrownPaperTickets.com. 

Sunny day - Old Sol makes another appearance over the city's skies today, with a high of 72 degrees.

Stonehenge - On this day in 1952, Professor WF Libby said Stonehenge dates back to 1848 BC, according to brainyhistory.com. Scientists have since dated it at about 2400 BC.
