Finally Friday Five: Taxes, Kickboxing, Shakespeare, and Pig Roast

The weekend is nigh. Here are some things to ponder.

 

It's finally Friday, Woonsocket - kick back, sip a little of the morning beverage of your choosing, and check out today's things to know:

Taxes - The Motor Vehicle tax bills for City of Woonsocket will be mailed by July 20.  The city will extend the due date of the first quarter payment to Aug. 17. If you need additional information, contact the Assessor’s  Office at  767-9271.

Kickboxing - Woonsocket Parks & Recreation's summer series of activities brings you kickboxing at 11 a.m. at RiverzEdge Saturday. You can sleep in and get in your cardio. Win-win.

Pig Roast - St. Joseph's annual Pig Roast Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m., at 99 Louise St. For $20, you get live music by Northeast Groove, roasted pork, BBQ chicken, potato and macaroni salad, burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, corn on the cob and watermelon.

Stories - Check out the Kaleidoscope Kids Story Hour at River Bend Farm in Uxbridge today at 10:30 a.m. Ages 3-5, sibling welcome. Every Friday there will be a different nature themed story, walk and craft. Join the group at the Visitor Center for a morning program designed to connect young children and their guardians with the environment. Drop in attendance welcome.

Shakespeare - Don't forget to check out Mount St. Charles' production of "The Taming of the Shrew" tonight through the weekend. The remaining show run is July 20 – 21 at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $10; $8 for seniors; and $5 for students.
