Blood: There is a blood drive today at Woonsocket Harris Public Library from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Candidates: Today is one of the last two days for candidates for Woonsocket's municipal elections to return nomination papers. A ful list of all candidates will be finalized tomorrow by 4 p.m.
Golf: The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce will hold their 20th annual golf tournament today at 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway, East Providence from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

High School Sports: Woonsocket High School Boys and Girls Cross Country will have at the Cumberland Monastery at 4 p.m. WHS Girls Volleyball will play Shea High School at home starting at 6:30 p.m.
HIV/AIDS Awareness: Governor Lincoln D. Chafee will participate in a State Room event today to discuss the importance of HIV testing and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and participation in the annual AIDS Walk for Life, to be held Oct. 2. The Governor will be joined by AIDS Project RI’s Executive Director, Thomas Bertrand.
