Release: Hardy Thanks Voters for Support

School Committee candidate vows to run again in 2013.

School Committee candidate Jeff Hardy thanked his supporters this week for their votes in Tuesday's elections and vowed to run again in 2013.

Hardy was not elected to the five member board, he received 1,293 votes, or 29.21 percent.

"With your votes I was able to place 7th and although I didn’t make it on the School Committee I learned a great deal," said Hardy in a press release. "I definitely plan on running again in 2013 and hope to have even more voters give me a chance.   I had a lot of fun and I wish I could have made a difference, but I’m not giving up.  I will still be at most meetings and asking questions when I need to.  I wish the new School Committee as well as the City Council the best of luck."

The bid was Hardy's first for elected office. An involved parent with three children in the Woonsocket Public School system, Hardy has said that his family, and an interest in ensuring his children receive a proper education, was one of the primary reasons for his campaign.
