Sequino Named Chair Of Woonsocket Budget Commission

East Greenwich Town Manager to lead panel.

 The named East Greenwich Town Manager Bill Sequino as its chair during their first meeting this morning before a nearly full house crowd.

"Anything relating to fiscal matters is now the responsibility of the Budget Commission," said state Director of Revenue Rosemary Booth Gallogly. Also, she said, though every meeting of the Budget Commssion is not required to be public, "My preference is that all of the meetings be open meetings," she said.

Gallogly turned the floor over to the members, who each took a moment to introduce themselves.

The appointed Commission members are Peder Schaefer, Associate Director of the League of Cities and Towns; Sequino, and retired school business officer Dina Dutremble. By law, the other two members of the commission are Mayor Leo Fontaine and Woonsocket City Council President John Ward.

Fontaine nominated Sequino as chairperson, Ward seconded the motion and Sequino abstained. The remaining members voted to nominate Sequino as chairperson unanimously.
