A tremendous superstar that has toured all over the place JR Adams aka Jay Are is creating laughter where ever he lands on the map. This man definitely gets Mr. Charity’s star of approval. The hardest thing to do is make someone laugh and he does it like a duck to water. He got his start when he was in Los Angeles; a friend started an organization called "Courting LA". This group put on events around LA. There was an open mic with comedy, spoken word, poetry and music.
“She asked me to come do something, but as a musician. I thought it would be a perfect time to get the old band from high school back together and play music, but we never could figure out a practice schedule. I also liked doin poetry so I prepared a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZKRQJc0QdY) and sent it to her. Because I can't be completely serious, she thought it was hilarious and said I should try standup; and that was about a year and half ago” said Jay. He is now blossoming as a performer and getting more and more well known.

Q. Who are your inspirations and why?
JR: “My only inspiration is my family. My wife and 3 kids keep me going and inspire me to do the best I can and to follow my dreams; cause that's what I plan on telling them as they take their journey through life. I've picked up some mentors on the way that keep me and my ego in check as well.”
Q: What do you get out of making people laugh?
JR: “Hearing laughter is a drug! I am utterly addicted to hearing people laugh and being on stage. If I go 2 weeks without going on stage, I start sweating and feigning for the stage. Hearing my name right before I step onto the stage is the biggest rush for me.”
Q: What have you learned from being on the road and making folks laugh?
JR: “ I've learned that no matter what, people need to laugh. This world is going crazy and it's only getting worse. The only thing that's going to keep peoples sanity is laughter, and I'm happy to be a part of it.”
Q: What is the source of your comedy?
JR: “This is a hard question to answer. When I first started, it was all about what made me laugh. And that got me to a point, and then one of my mentors pointed out to me that I wasn't personal enough. So now, I focus on my everyday life that regular people can relate to. It's either that, or linking two opposites to acknowledge the complete difference between the two. For instance, at karaoke you always see a white girl singing "Baby got back" by Sir mix a lot; but y don't you ever see a hardcore thug singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen?”
