The Woonsocket Police Department continues to share blasts from the past each Thursday in celebration of the social media trend, “throwback thursday.”

This week’s photo is thrown all the way back to the Civil War era.

It is the first known photo of Woonsocket Police Department/Constables, according to a post on the Woonsocket Police Department Facebook page.

Here are the men pictured:

  • Seated is Town Sgt. Horace Pierce and Joseph C. Friske.
  • Standing is Conrad Cook, Edward Thurber, Elijah Craig, Lemuel Allen and Silas Adams.
