Thursday Five: Auditions, Shutterbugs, Calendar and Sun

Happy Thursday - the weekend is two short days away. Grab some coffee, or some OJ, and check out these things to know:

Auditions - The Encore Repertory Company is looking for males and females, ages 8 and up for their upcoming production of A Christmas Carol. Auditions will be heldt tonight at the Stadium Theatre, 28 Monument Square, Woonsocket, RI from 6:30-9:30 p.m. 

Auditioners will be doing cold reads from the scripts. All roles are open. Please contact producer Mike Harrison at michael@stadiumtheatre.com with any questions.

Shutterbugs - Show up at 7 p.m. at the  for the Northern Rhode Island Camera Club. The purpose of this group is for people interested in photography to get involved locally. We hope to plan workshops, field trips, meetings, and competitions.

Register to vote - Oct. 7 is the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 6 election, and Oct. 16 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot. The deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 11 primary has passed, but if you were already registered, you're OK. If you're an unaffiliated voter, you can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary - just ask the poll worker to to dis-affiliate you on the way out after to return to independent status. This election season voters will also be required to show a voter ID.

Calendar - If you've got an event you want to share with the many readers of the Woonsocket Patch, you can be your own best advocate - post it yourself to the Woonsocket Patch calendar. Fill in the blanks with your event's information, and you're good to go.
