Today: Marching in, School Committee, Chow for Globe Park

It's Wednesday - there's one day till March, and five things to know.

 

Good morning Woonsocket, and welcome to today's five things to know:

1) In like a lion - There's a  There will be a mix of rain and snow before 3 p.m., turning to snow later on. Less than an inch is forecast, but roads are expected to be slick overnight.

2) Dine for school - Every customer who presents a fundraising flier at today will have a percentage of their food and beverage sales donated to the school's playground fund. Copies of the flier can be found on Globe Park School's facebook page. 

3) School Committee - The Woonsocket School Committee will meet today at 60 Florence Dr., at 6:45 p.m. for a closed session hearing, with an open hearing beginning at 7 p.m. On the Woonsocket School Committee agenda are resolutions to support two bills: one allowing charter school licenses to be revoked if they're unsuccessful after three years, and another allowing foster children to be educated within the town they're placed, at state expense.

4) Castle reopens tomorrow -  was closed for a few weeks for some renovations, but they re-open Thursday at 11 a.m., just in time for the lenten specials.
