VIDEO: Candidates Reach Out To Fairmount Voters

Rain postpones walk through Constitution Hill, but municipal candidates share their views and discuss need for cooperation at forum.

Thunder and lightening may have stopped candidates for Woonsocket's municipal elections from walking Constitution Hill Thursday night, but in true NeighborWorks fashion, attendees used the opportunity to discuss collaboration and how the city's many factions can work together to make Fairmount, and all of Woonsocket, a better place to live.

During the biweekly walks, staff and community officials normally join neighbors for an informal look at different parts of the Constitution Hill neighborhood and measure progress in efforts to revitalizing the area. Although Thursday's attendees were thwarted by weather, many hope to join the group for a walk on Oct. 13.

Three School Committee candidates and two City Council candidates attended the informal forum held in place of the walk, introducing themselves to constituents and discussing their ideas for Woonsocket government.
