Melendez Pleads Guilty to Probation Violations
, 25, is being charged with the manufacture, delivery, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony charge. He made his initial appearance in district court in Providence on August 31 and was ordered held without bail and referred to the public defender. Mr. Melendez was also arraigned on that date on a charge of violating probation that was ordered after he was found guilty of obstructing a police officer earlier in the year. At a probation violation hearing on September 14, Melendez admitted to probation violations. A pre-arraignment conference for the drug charge has been scheduled for November 2. The Woonsocket Police Department’s vice squad found Melendez in alleged possession of several grams of cocaine after using explosives to breach the barricaded door of his Fourth Street apartment.
McKenna appears at pre-trial
, 21, charged with DUI, death resulting and driving without a license in a fatal May 2 crash, appeared Tuesday in Providence County court for a pre-trial conference.

McKenna appeared before Judge Netti C. Vogel. She is scheduled to appear in court again in mid-November.
Antonio M. Williams, 20, with a last known address of 232 Morin Heights was killed in the May 2 accident which occurred at the intersection of Mendon Road and Theresa Street at 1:46 a.m. that Monday.

The 1997 Ford Taurus operated by McKenna, of 233 North Main St., struck a telephone pole. Williams, who was in the front passenger seat, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Williams was reportedly a father and current resident of Woonsocket.
Abdoulie Njie Indicted
, 34, was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges of first degree sexual assault--two counts--second degree sexual assault, and intimidating a witness or victim, all felony charges. He is being represented by the public defender. Njie pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment on September 7. He was served with a no contact order and held without bail. Njie is being represented by the public defender. The case is being prosecuted by Stephen A. Regine. Njie, of South Street, was arrested this summer after allegedly sexually assaulting a nineteen-year-old neighbor, then attempting to bribe the victim.
Other Court Updates
Danny M. Jordan, 34, is being charged with one count of larceny greater than $500, a felony, and one count of passing a counterfeit certificate, bill, or note. During an initial appearance, Jordan was served with a no contact order and released on surety bail. The Woonsocket Police arrested Jordan on a warrant last month after he allegedly embezzled over thirty thousand dollars from a former employer. Jordan has a pre-arraignment conference scheduled for October 26.
is charged with two counts of assault, both felonies. During an initial appearance on Sept. 7, Menard was unable to satisfy surety bail and was committed to the A.C.I. A lien has been placed on his property. A pre-arraignment disposal conference is scheduled for Nov. 9. Menard, 25, turned himself in to authorities in September after allegedly discharging a firearm at a vehicle on Robinson Street. Recently, Menard received after allegedly taking part in a bar fight and then fleeing from police.
was charged with the manufacture, delivery, and possession with intent to deliver a schedule I or II narcotic, a felony; carrying a firearm during a violent crime; possessing a firearm during a violent crime; possession of marijuana; the manufacture, sale, and possession with intent to deliver 1 ounce to 1 kilogram of cocaine; and simple domestic assault. Jordan had an initial appearance in Superior Court on September 14 and is being held without bail at the A.C.I. A pre-arraignment conference is scheduled for Jordan on November 16. Jordan was arrested this month when police found $12,000 worth of cocaine on his property after responding to a domestic disturbance.
is charged with one count of manufacturing, delivering, and possessing with intent to deliver a class I or II narcotic, a felony. During an initial appearance on September 26, Peterson was referred to the public defender, ordered held without bail and remanded to the A.C.I. He has a bail hearing scheduled for October 6, and a pre-arraignment conference scheduled for November 28. Peterson, 53, was arrested this month after police found $400 worth of cocaine, over $2800 in cash, and drug paraphernalia in his car during a traffic stop.
is charged with one count of possession of a class I through V controlled substance, a felony. After an initial appearance, he was released on personal recognizance and referred to the public defender. A pre-arraignment conference is scheduled for Encarnacion on November 18. Encarnacion was arrested after narcotics were found in his possession during a traffic stop.
was charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault, one of which has been dismissed, and one count of first degree robbery, all felony charges. During an initial appearance, Ferrio’s case was advanced to the grand jury and he was ordered held without bail and referred to the public defender, Collin M. Geiselman. A bail hearing is scheduled for Ferrio on September 28, and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for October 12. Ferrio was arrested on a felony warrant in connection with rape cases dating from 2004 and 2009.
An initial appearance was held in district court in Providence on August 9 for . Guy, 27, of St. Barnabe Street, was arrested in June after allegedly stabbing his father. He was charged with domestic assault, a misdemeanor, served with a no-contact order, and released on personal recognizance.
