Woonsocket Man Indicted For August 2011 Shooting

Justin Troy Frabotta, 23, of 233 North Main St. was indicted this week for the July 2011 of Neil James Coppinger.

RI Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin's office reported today that the Providence County Grand Jury has issued an indictment charging Justin Frabotta with assault with intent to rob, conspiracy, assault with a dangerous weapon, use of a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence, carrying a pistol without a license, and assault with intent to murder.

Police allege that on or about July 15, 2011, Frabotta and two co-conspirators conspired to rob Coppinger. They also allege that Frabotta used a firearm that he had no license to carry, discharged it, and caused the permanent incapacity of Coppinger while attempting to rob him.

Frabotta was arrested by Woonsocket police on the charges in August 2011 and conducted the investigation. Frabotta is currently held at the ACI as a probation violator and is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on June 1, 2012.
