Woonsocket Police Look For Shooting Suspect
An arrest warrant has been issued for Justin Menard, 25, the suspect of last night's shooting on the corner of Florida and Robinson Streets.

The Woonsocket Police Department is seeking help in locating the suspect from a shooting last night on Florida Street. Justin R. Menard, 25, of Woonsocket is believed to have shot a handgun several times at a couple traveling on the road, leaving both injured. Menard reportedly blocked the street with his vehicle and the victims of Sandy and Brad Gagnon to escape gunfire.
Officers were sent to the area at 7:52 p.m. Thursday for reports of shots fired. When police arrived, they noticed a blue 2004 BMW had backed into 597 Robinson Street.
The investigation revealed the 2004 BMW with two occupants was travelling northbound on Florida Street. While at the intersection of Florida Street and Robinson Street, a large white vehicle blocked their path. The driver of the white vehicle, later identified as Menard (w/m 5’11” tall,) exited the vehicle and brandished a handgun. Menard then started to shoot at the BMW. The BMW backed away from the gunfire and crashed into 597 Robinson Street.
Both occupants of the 2004 BMW sustained minor injuries. Their names have not yet been released by police and their status is unknown. There were no injuries reported by the residents of 597 Robinson Street.
The Woonsocket Police obtained an arrest warrant for Menard for two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. If seen please call the police at 401-766-1212 or the anonymous tip- line at 401-769-4444.
