Historic Columbia celebrates the arrival of spring with our annual Gardening Symposium! Following with year's theme, "Growing Your Gardening Skills," enjoy an expanded, two-day event that blends hands-on sessions and presentations by respected gardeners and horticulturalists to help you cultivate your gardening skills. 

On Friday, enjoy a reception and keynote presentation, "It's All About the Dirt: A Special Evening with Amanda McNulty," in a historic riverfront setting at Senate's End. Amanda McNulty, host of SCETV's Making It Grow, will educate and inspire both novice and expert gardeners to improve the beauty of their gardens from the ground up. Ticket price includes wine, beer, hors d'oeuvres and conversation.

Join us Saturday for “Wake Up with Gardening,” and enjoy a series of workshops that will provide you with a more hands-on approach to gardening skills, as well as knowledge and information from local business owners and gardening professionals. Our workshops include: Discovering the Hidden Potential of Your Garden with Ronnie Dimig, local artist and professional gardener, Successful Container Gardening with Kevin Shaw, Hay Hill Garden Market, and Choosing Plants that Thrive in the Midlands with Lori Watson, Mill Creek Greenhouses.
