🌱 Man Arrested For Shooting + Apartments Without Heat

Here are the top stories in Columbia today:

  1. A man was arrested on Wednesday by Columbia Police Department investigators in connection with a fatal shooting on Nov. 15. The isolated incident occurred at home on Kennedy Street and left one man dead and another injured. According to a tweet on the police department's Twitter page, Emanuel Griffin was recently arrested and faced several charges. (ColaDaily.com)
  2. The Columbia Richland Fire Department is investigating an apartment complex where residents say they have been living without heat and carbon monoxide detectors. The people who live at Boulder Creek Apartments on Bentley Court, off Broad River Road say this has been a problem for months. The tenants say they reached out to management but the only fixes they provided were temporary. (WIS10)
  3. Columbia Housing has won 46 awards in the annual National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials Competition. (carolinapanorama.com)
  4. The Columbia Police Department is warning locals to be careful while decking the halls this year. CPD released information from the National Safety Council and their own statistics that show thousands of people visit the hospital each year after getting hurt while decorating for the holidays.
