  1. Newly-elected mayor Daniel Rickenmann and three new council members are scheduled to be sworn into office on Jan. 4 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The new leaders were elected after over 20,000 Columbia residents voted during a runoff race in November. Rickenmann defeated fellow city council member Tameika Isaac Devine in a close mayoral race, receiving 52 percent of the vote. (ColaDaily.com)
  2. The Richland County Sheriff's Department is searching for two women who are suspected of shoplifting. The women are accused of stealing $1,800 worth of children's clothing from an Old Navy store on Forum Drive before fleeing in an unknown vehicle. Officers are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. (ColaDaily.com)
  3. A Columbia church donated nearly 50,000 pounds of food to families in need on Sunday. The Forward City Church held the event at its new location on Two Notch Road from 1 to 3 p.m. Church leaders say they hope to hold the event monthly upon opening officially in January.(WLTX.com)
