Monday Deadline to Request Tickets for Sanford-Colbert Busch Debate

The battle for South Carolina's first congressional district enters the home stretch.

Patch is proud to announce a debate between the candidates for the First Congressional District: Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch and Republican Mark Sanford.

 The deadline to request tickets is 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22.

The debate will begin at 7 p.m. April 29 in the Courvoisie Room at The Citadel. The South Carolina Radio Network (SCRN) is partnering with Patch to offer audio to its affiliates around the state.

The Patch/SCRN debate is the only such event to which both candidates have agreed to attend.

Panelists will be SCRN News Director Ashley Byrd, SC Patch Political Editor Shawn Drury and author, columnist and South Carolina native John Avlon.

Avlon earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and an MBA from Columbia University. He is the author of several books on politics and has appeared on C-SPAN and PBS, among many other networks. His work regularly appears in The Daily Beast and on CNN.
