Edwards Insurance Agency Earns Make More Happen™ Award for Supporting Locals Living with Parkinson’s

Liberty Mutual Insurance has awarded Edwards Insurance Agency a 2026 Make More Happen™ Award for its dedication to supporting people living with Parkinson’s disease and their families through its partnership with the Greenville Area Parkinson Society (GAPS). The award includes a $5,000 donation, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online community support.

The Edwards Insurance Agency’s story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite, https://www.agentgiving.com/edwards-insurance-agency, where supporters can vote to help unlock the full $10,000 donation. If the story receives at least 750 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 award will be doubled. The additional funding would help GAPS expand its exercise-based programs, support groups, speaker seminars, social events, and medical community outreach efforts for individuals and families living with Parkinson’s disease across the Upstate of South Carolina.

The Greenville Area Parkinson Society provides a vital lifeline for people living with Parkinson’s disease, their care partners, spouses, and families throughout the region. As the only organization serving an estimated 4,500 individuals in the Upstate, GAPS offers support, education, and advocacy through 35 free programs each month, ensuring no one is ever turned away because of cost.

That mission has long resonated with Edwards Insurance Agency Principal Tripp Edwards, whose agency supports GAPS year-round through sponsorships, volunteer efforts, and in-kind office space when needed. Edwards Insurance backs the organization’s two major fundraisers, the Strides for GAPS Community Walk and the Water Cooler Classic, while agency staff members and clients actively participate to help strengthen the cause.

Tripp Edwards and staff member Pepe Edwards are especially involved, providing both financial and hands-on support to the organization’s work in the community. “It was inspiring to meet the members with Parkinson’s and their family members and friends,” said Pepe Edwards. “I witnessed firsthand the impact that GAPS has on the Parkinson’s community.”

For the Edwards Insurance team, supporting GAPS means helping individuals living with Parkinson’s remain active, connected, and empowered while providing encouragement to the families and caregivers who walk alongside them every day.

“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Jeffrey McBride, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual Insurance. “Edwards Insurance Agency’s commitment to the Greenville Area Parkinson Society demonstrates the meaningful difference local businesses can make in supporting health, wellness, and connection for people facing difficult diagnoses.”

Throughout 2026, Liberty Mutual Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications that highlight their commitment to a specific cause.
