⢠GBI Arrests Five in Connection With 2022 Double Murder in Hartwell (921wlhr.com) ā Hartwell residents are learning that five people have been arrested after a fourāyear GBI investigation into a 2022 double shooting outside Jackās Bar and Grill, which led to the business closing and a major multiāagency probe. The suspects, including two Hartwell men, face felony murder and aggravated assault charges, and the case remains active as authorities seek additional information.

⢠Lake Hartwell petition circulates (wgog.com) ā People living around Lake Hartwell, including many Hartwell residents, are pushing back against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineersā plan to hold the lake about 8ā10 feet below full pool while fixing a problem dike. A fastāgrowing petition urges Congress to demand a firm repair timeline, warning that prolonged low water will hurt ramps, recreation, tourism, and lakeādependent businesses.
