Brasfield and Gorrie General Contractors will conduct a blast in Falls Park on Monday, June 8 at approximately 3 p.m. The purpose of the blast is to facilitate the installation of a stormwater box to capture runoff from the Camperdown development. While a blasting mat and natural dirt cover will be used for the blasting area, to ensure public safety, the Liberty Bridge and portions of Falls Park will be closed from approximately 2:50 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. Vehicular traffic near the intersection of South Main Street and Falls Park Drive will also be halted briefly. Motorists traveling in the vicinity should use caution and watch for traffic control personnel. Once the blasting is complete, construction personnel will reopen the safety zone and allow park users and pedestrians to return to the area.
