Chapin Woman's Club Getting Ready for annual Flamingo Fling

If you have spent any time in Chapin, you know the Chapin Woman's Club is an active bunch of ladies who do a lot of great things for our community. They fund scholarships for local students, they support community groups like We Care and Good Works, and they know how to throw a really great party!

This is year is no exception as the women are busy getting ready for the annual Flamingo Fling fundraiser which helps support many the club's good deeds. This year's theme is Sparkle and Shine and I imagine they will have a glittery evening of fun, food and wonderful auction items that will entice members of our community to open up their checkbooks in support of a truly great cause!

Sparkle and Shine will take place on Friday, April 27 beginning at 7 pm at the Timberlake Country Club. According to Marilyn Knowles, publicity chair for the Flamingo Fling, there will be a silent and live auction, scrumptious appetizers, a rocking DJ with dancing on the club's veranda and a cash bar. Tickets are $35 in advance and this event usually sells out so you will want to visit the Woman's Club website to reserve yours now.

The women would also like to thank Chapin Pediatrics which is the premiere sponsor for Sparkle and Shine and additional sponsors include Chapin Dental, Zorba's, Dr. Alison Cashman, Blue Marlin Restaurant/Blue Marlin Signature Catering and Dr. Edith Gore. And the gentlemen at Palmetto Gems are contributing something sparkley and shiney, too!

Proceeds from this year's event will benefit a number of programs and organizations in our community, including the Chapin Community Theatre, the Hub, SC Honor Flight, Meals on Wheels, We Care, Good Works, and the Chapin library to name a few.
