Residential Recycling Day Planned in Chapin

RE/MAX Real Estate Consultants in Chapin is hosting a community Recycling Day on Saturday, March 10 for area residents.

I was talking to Molly Sims with RE/MAX Real Estate Consultants in Chapin the other day, and she told me her office was hosting a community Recycling Day on Saturday, March 10 from 11 am to 2 pm. As a former recycling guru, I was happy to hear about these efforts and wanted to know more.

Molly says that despite the "doom and gloom" you hear about in the media related to housing sales and foreclosure rates, she is coming off some of the best years in sales of her 20-year career. "I am very thankful to the Chapin community for putting their trust in me to help them navigate one of the biggest financial decisions you make in life, buying or selling a home," she explained.

Given her appreciation for continued success, Molly places a high priority on giving back to the local community. This residential recycling collection is a way to help people in Chapin and do something positive for the environment. Items accepted as part of the Recycling Day include:

  • Documents for shredding and recycling
  • Used electronics, such as computers, printers, fax machines and copiers
  • Cell phones that still work will be given to US soldiers serving overseas
  • Old clothing, household items and furniture

“We know people like to start their spring cleaning early so we look forward to offering them an alternative to just throwing these items away. We are also pleased to partner with Shred 360, His House Ministries and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department to provide this recycling opportunity for Chapin residents,” Sims added.

The collection will take place at the RE/MAX office parking lot in downtown Chapin, which is located 1303 Chapin Road. The event is open to Chapin residents and there is no cost to participate. For more information, call 803.932.2803.
