Chapin Chamber's Monthly Lunch to Focus on Jobs Gap

The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Center is pleased to have Tom Ledbetter, associate vice president of the Midlands Technical College Enterprise Campus, and Kaye Shaw, executive director of the Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA), as its presenters for the August membership Luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies (916 Mt. Vernon Church Road, Chapin).

Ledbetter’s presentation will focus on the jobs gap here in the Midlands and what Midlands Technical College is doing to address these needs. One of Midlands Tech’s ongoing partners is the Midlands Education and Business Alliance, an organization which connects businesses, communities and education systems in Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties.  MEBA provides career-planning services to colleges and universities, school districts, schools and students as well as coordinates the activities of over 250 volunteers from business and education.

Midlands Tech and MEBA are very active in exposing students and adults alike to new opportunities that exist in today’s workforce, and they work closely with employers of all types to identify the skilled and productive workers needed.
