Lexington Police seek the public's help in locating a woman who failed to show in court on charges she allegedly stole Christmas from local needy kids

Updated Friday, Jan. 13: The Lexington Police Department on Friday rescinded its earlier announcement seeking the public's help in finding Amber Desiree' Harmon, accused along with an accomplice of allegedly stealing children's Christmas gifts last month from a local hotel.

"Please disregard the previous release regarding Amber D. Harmon," LPD Lt. Wally Bledsoe said in an email to local media Friday. "She has been located and another court date was set due to extenuating circumstances."

On Dec. 13, 2011, Harmon, along with Tonya D. Smith, was arrested in connection with the theft of Christmas gifts intended for needy children. Smith and Harmon allegedly stole wrapped gifts from donation box at in Lexington on Dec. 11. 

Harmon failed to show up in court and was tried in her absence. A bench warrant has been issued for her arrest.
