Another Traffic Crackdown Coming
Be Warned: Local Authorities Plan Stepped Up Patrols Throughout Lexington County

Be careful out there.
For the third time in the past several weeks, the Lexington County Sheriff's Department and S.C. Highway Patrol will be conducting a coordinated traffic crackdown on roads throughout the county.
The stepped up patrols begin Thursday morning and run through Wednesday, Aug. 10.

As in previous operations, deputies and troopers will be targeting speeders, and reckless and drunk drivers on selected roads.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said deputies and state troopers will concentrate on specific offenses or on problem areas identified by patrol observations, complaints from citizens and statistics concerning traffic collisions.

The targeted roadways: Meadowfield Road, Fish Hatchery Road, Gardners Terrace Road, Old Orangeburg Road, Cannon Trail Road, Lake Murray Boulevard, Nottingham Road, Oak Drive, Sausage Lane, and White Knoll Way.
Word to the wise: While these are the targeted roads, authorities note "they are subject to change without notice," Metts said.
