LCSD 'Cook-A-Pig' raises thousands of dollars for Special Olympics.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department resident deputies donated $8,400 to South Carolina Special Olympics as a result of the Cook-A-Pig fund raiser that deputies conducted on April 5. All proceeds from the event benefitted South Carolina Special Olympics.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said deputies barbequed Boston Butts, selling each 10-pound Boston Butt at a cost of $40. Resident deputies in the South Region Patrol District, which is based in Pelion, coordinated the fund raiser. The Boston Butts were made available for pickup at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington.
Cook-A-Pig reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
