Law enforcement officers collected donations from Krispy Kreme customers last week.

Officers with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Lexington Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies collected donations of about $11,500 during the Cops on Doughnut Shops fundraiser for the South Carolina Special Olympics.
Officers accepted donations from customers at Krispy Kreme stores in Cayce and Lexington Wednesday through Friday.
Money that Krispy Kreme customers donated to law enforcement officers will be used to help pay for athletes to compete in state and national Special Olympics competitions, Sheriff James Metts said.
