Downtown DUI Crackdown in Columbia

Heading to Five Points or the Vista this weekend to party? If so, watch out.

After a spate of recent drunk driver crashes and offenses in and around downtown, law enforcement agencies will be conducting DUI checkpoints throughout the downtown Columbia area, The State reports.

"Checkpoints will target the city’s two main nightlife districts, Five Points and the Vista, along with major roads, including Assembly, Gervais, Huger and Blossom streets and Elmwood Avenue," the paper reported.
