HS Hoops Playoffs Begin Tonight

Lexington High Boys and Girls teams both vying for state championships.

The road to the Class AAAA state high school basketball championship begins tonight.

First up: The Lady Wildcats of Lexington High School, who will take on Ashley Ridge tonight at 7 p.m. on Lexington's home court.

The winner will advance to the quarterfinals on Feb. 17, with the game being played on the higher seed's home court. The LHS girls (14-10) are a second-seed in their Lower State bracket.

Boys' action begins Wednesday night, when the sixth-ranked Wildcats (20-5) face off against Ridge View at 7 p.m. on the Wildcats' home court.

In addition, on Wednesday night, White Knoll High School will face-off against Summerville in an away game.

Winners of Wednesday night's boys' games will clash again on Feb. 18 in the quarterfinals, with the higher seeds playing on their home courts. LHS is a top seed in their Lower State bracket, while White Knoll is a fourth seed.
