Latest Lexington Traffic Crackdown Underway

Lexington County Sheriff's deputies and the S.C. Highway Patrol have begun their latest traffic crackdown throughout the county. 

The stepped up patrols begin this morning and run through Wednesday, Sept. 14.

As in previous operations, deputies and troopers will be targeting speeders, and reckless and drunk drivers on selected roads. 

Sheriff James Metts said deputies and state troopers will concentrate on specific offenses or on problem areas identified by patrol observations, complaints from citizens and statistics concerning traffic collisions.

The targeted roadways: Presque Isle Road, Wildlife Road, Neely Wingard Road, Platt Springs Road, Hallman Wagon Road, Delree Street, Micala Road, Valcour Road, Clearview Drive, and Coldstream Drive.

While these are the targeted roads, Metts said, "they are subject to change without notice."
